OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIPS WP
In 2014-15, ETFO provided overseas scholarships totalling $28,500 to the CTF Trust Fund for
scholarships for women teachers in Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, South East Asia, South Asia and the
Caribbean; to the Hope for Rwanda’s Children Fund for scholarships for female students; and to the
Women’s Wing of Swaziland National Association of Teachers for scholarships for women teachers
and female students.
STATUS OF WOMEN DONATIONS
ETFO allocates $20,000 for Status of Women Donations. These donations are made to organizations
whose goals are to improve the status of women and/or girls in Ontario or Canada. Women’s
organizations that received funding this year include:

WOMEN’S CRISIS CENTRES
In 2014-2015, ETFO made donations totalling $40,000 to 87 women’s crisis centres across Ontario.
2014-2015 WOMEN AND GIRLS INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS WP
ETFO has entered into bilateral projects with teacher unions and other non-governmental organizations
in the Caribbean, South America, and sub-Saharan Africa, which promote the involvement of women
in the union, advance the rights of women, and promote the education of girls. Each of these projects
has a profound positive impact on the lives of thousands of women and girls in countries where they
desperately need support.
